πŸ‚ A leaf man's got to go where the wind blows...

15th Oct 2024

πŸ’žWe have been doing amazing learning in Junior Infants.

πŸ’žThe boys and girls have been counting up to 5! Our special focus numbers this week were 1 and 2. Everyone put their number squares in order from 0 to 5 and used different counters to demonstrate exactly how many ones are 1 and 2!

πŸ’žWe practiced saying 'Incy Wincy Spider'. We can identify words that rhyme such as 'spout' and 'out'. We cut out and glued some pictures of Icy Wincy Spider to demonstrate that we understand what happened to Incy in each line of the rhyme πŸ•ΈπŸ•·

πŸ’ž We have identified different colours in our classroom during our colour hunt. Mrs Dowdell was wearing red jumper when she came to visit us, and the boys and girls noticed this straight away! They thought she looked wonderful and some pupils drew her jumper their copies. Great idea!

πŸ’ž The infants really enjoyed 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. They were able to predict and join in with some of the words. Brilliant! 🐻

πŸ’ž We are continuing to learn about autumn. The children listened to a lovely story called 'Leaf Man'. A leaf man is a man that you might see in a pile of leaves BUT it involves using your imagination! The boys and girls could see geese, chickens, ducks, apple trees, vegetables and fish in the piles of leaves in our story! What wonderful imaginations they have! Later on, some of the children made some leaf men of their own during golden time.

πŸ’ž Well done everyone, you are all superstars πŸ’«
