First Class have been super busy this week.
English
The children have been looking at rhyming words in Phonics this week. They know that words that have the same ending as another rhyme. We had lots of fun writing silly spells that had rhyming words in them. Can you write a silly spell with rhyming words at home to show your grown up?
We have explored the website www.storynory.com this week and listened to a number of audio books including Goldilocks. The children had a fantastic time doing role play activities where they got to be Goldilocks and also ask her questions. Why not listen to some more audio stories at home?
We have also looked at Procedural Writing. We have had fun making jam sandwiches to help with this!
Maths
The children have started to explore 3D shapes this week. Can you find any 3D Shapes in your home?
Irish
We have been learning to say the name of different hobbies.
Science /History
We have looked at the life of Anders Celsius this week and his invention of the thermometer. The children have been writing some facts about his work.
Art/Music
The class have been very busy preparing for Grandparents day visitors. They have created portraits of their grandparents and also made them a surprise gift. We have been learning some new songs to sing for our visitors and are very excited to perform these.
