We have all settled back into the school routine after Christmas. Below is the topics we are currently covering in class. Please feel free to ask your child on the topics, this really helps tosupport their learning.
Maths
We have been converting decimals to fractions and fractions back into decimals. The children were able to work to 3 decimal places and showed great understanding.
English
We worked on increasing our use of synonyms and using the possessive apostrophe. The children read about Malala and were able to show their understanding of the story. They also created their own stories some of which are in the pictures.
Irish
We learned how to describe the weather in Irish. The children each designed their own map of Ireland with describing the weather in the North, South, East and West of the country.
SESE
We learned about the history of medicine. Going back to pre historic times to modern medicine. Everyone participated in group work to teach the other students some facts about their time period.
Next week we will be speaking about students being kind to eachother and especially about trying to use kind words in difficult situations. Take time to talk to your child about word choices, how we like to be spoken to and how we should speak to others.
