A busy week in 5th
15th Dec 2024
Hi everyone
Firstly I want to acknowledge the fantastic effort from both the kids and you the parents in contributing towards a fantastic performance of A Christmas Carol. The kids were all very proud of the hard work they put in over the past few weeks and we hope you enjoyed it.
SESE
This week we examined how our seasons happen. Learning about how the Earth spins on it's axis. The kids then got to be teacher and asked eachother questions to assess for learning which was a great experience.
English
The children continued to work hard on their reading skills. We also took the opportunity of Christmas to write a short story for the children of Senior Infants. We made this into a book with some of the children then illustrating also. We hope to read the books to Senior Infants next week. I have attached some photos of the wonderful postcards from last week.
Maths
Mastering our fractions. Before moving on to changing fractions into decimals we took the chance to challenge eachother on mixed, equivalent and improper fractions. Well done to everyone.
Irish
Hopefully you all have the beautiful cards the children made last week on show at home. We have and will continue to improve on our knowledge of Christmas in Irish over the next week.
