Bualadh bos rang 3 agus rang 4!!!👏👏👏
💫🌟How could I not first of all in our weekly news but congratulate all of the SUPERSTARS of 3rd & 4th class on their FANTASTIC performance of “Penguin Pete” - I said it 10 times and I’ll say it again - I’m so proud of each and everyone of you!!!
📚It’s very much back to work here in our class - still plenty to learn before we break for your well deserved Christmas holidays (teachers & pupils are counting the days)!
✍️We utilised our interactive whiteboard this week practicing our times tables with our speed quiz - lots of fun and very competitive!
We did lots of English based on our theme of Christmas- creative & imaginative writing on our elf hiding in the tree-what happens next ……
We learned about suffixes and prefixes and why we use them.
We are revisiting our nouns , verbs , adverbs & adjectives and modelling our sentence structure.
dictation is a daily practice in our classroom - the children put their High Frequency Words into 5/6 extended sentences. This is essential writing & reading practice.
✖️Maths - plenty of revision on topics such as triangles , fractions , decimal places and of course lots and lots of reinforcing those ‘times tables’!
🧭SESE - we are learning all about maps! We even got to draw our own Ariel view of our classroom - lots of field work still to be carried out.
⛪️Religion - We are learning about “The Annunciation- the announcement made by the archangel Gabriel to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son through a virgin birth and become the mother of Jesus Christ.
🎄We also did work on Christmas around the world getting all the children involved!
Also how we can we better servants to God!
🎄Irish - Nollaig
🖥️We finished off our week with our online Christmas maths quiz - mixed up both 3rd & 4th class into teams.
*reminder to return all permission slips for our visit to church next Thursday!*
