Christmas Preparations
Children learn from anything and everything they see.
THEY LEARN WHEREVER THEY ARE, NOT JUST IN SPECIAL LEARNING PLACES.
~ JOHN HOLT
We have been so busy getting ready for our play next Wednesday- we have put in great practice sessions and are really embracing it all the kids are doing fab and we can’t wait for you to join us on Wednesday!
This week we are learning about Advent and how we prepare for Christmas within all our own family traditions. Our advent display is up in our room.
We have incorporated our advent candles of peace , hope & joy and made our own Christmas wishes - these are on our display board in the main hall - we wished for peace in our world , joy in our homes & hope for the year ahead.
In maths looking back & multiplication has become our main focus. We are really working hard on practicing our timetables which I would ask you to remind and encourage your child to do at home.
English has been fun this week - we have been learning about the history of chocolate, forming sentences correctly using the correct punctuation. We also did lots of speaking and listening exercises and finished off the week enjoying the toy show word procedure.
Your child gets a new reading book on a weekly basis and I would encourage reading at home both shared & independent.
SESE - all about reducing our waste! Something we need to make the children aware of for our future world. How we can reduce , reuse and recycle. Plenty of discussion on this to follow …..chat about this together.
Art - the children made their very own advent calendars to take home - we also have our class advent calendar we look at every day which contains a little task for example …. Hug someone you love, ask for peace or be kind today.
Well done to Paige and Kayas on receiving my star of the week award!
We enjoyed our visit of Dundalk Museum to watch “Elf”
Christmas Themed books have taken pride of place in our room to tie in with our theme of the month.
Our class-dojo app was set up with great excitement from the children. Please connect your child to track their reward progress.
