In English this week we read the story of Dog on a Broomstick and wrote sentences about it using verbs. We also looked at vowels and made a list of CVC words. The children enjoyed sharing news and objects of interest with each other during show and tell.
In Maths we completed addition questions involving missing numbers within 15. The children had fun making up their own addition questions and we also continued to practice our mental maths quick recall skills by looking at number bonds to 10 and doubles.
In Irish the children learned how to describe various objects they might find in their school bags.
In History the children enjoyed listening to the responses of each others grandparents who shared their experiences of what school was like for them a long time ago.
In Geography we looked at various different types of homes. The children drew their own and wrote sentences about it.
In Art the children explored mixing colours and painted a lovely silhouette picture of a witches cat at sunset.
