First class have been learning about subtraction in Maths this week. They have been using different strategies such as counters and numberlines to work out problems.
In English they have been continuing to read the story of the 'Day the Crayons Quit'. They have read it with their reading partners as well as reading it aloud as a class. The children worked as a team to include purposeful movement (actions) with the story to help with more difficult words.
In phonics and grammar we looked at the ss and zz sound aswell as singular and plural nouns.
In Science the children really enjoyed exploring magnets and investigating things around the classroom that were magnetic.
