First class week ending 24th November

Maths
First Class have been focusing on spatial awareness this week. The children have been learning the difference between left and right through games and other fun practical activities.
English
We have been reading the story of 'Horrid Henry's Swimming Lessons' as well as 'Too Hot to Hug'. In phonics we have been focusing on the ck sound and the children have enjoyed the daily morning challenges around this. The children have enjoyed reading to their reading partners also.
Irish
The children have been continuing learning more on the topic of Food as well as adding to their list of vocabulary that begin with the letter D.
Christmas show
All children now have been given their part and lines for the show and we have been starting to practice for this on the stage in the school hall.
Show and tell
This week's theme was 'Teddy bears'. The children loved talking about their special bears as well as those that hold special memories for other members of their family.
