14th Mar 2025

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona Daoibh ó Rang a Sé!

Irish

We had a very busy week celebrating all things irish. Seachtaine na Gaeilge was in full swing with 6th class. We learnt new seanfhocails (Irish proverb) "Tír gan teanga, tír gang anam" means "A country without a language is a country without a soul." We learnt a ceili dance and took part in school quiz and bingo through irish. It was a fun filled week, with lots of informal Irish being used throughout the week.
Máith sibh a chairde!

(Make sure to see seperate post with pictures.)

English

This week in English we continued to develop our vocabulary,  work with suffixes  -ful and -ward, grammar- concord between nouns and verbs. Read another fictional story "The Wolf Wilder." The children worked on improving  comprehension skills, increasing vocabulary and spelling skills.

Maths
In maths we focused on multiplying decimals, decimal places, factors, product. We learnt when we multiply a decimal number by a decimal number we know where to put the decimal point in the answer. We continued to work on problem solving skills also.
