🌱We have been learning about life cycles in our SESE topic. This week we were focusing particularly on flowers 💐 and plants 🪴
🌱We listened to the story of 'Little Sunflower' 🌻 and discussed petals, leaves, roots and shoots, and what a plant needs to grow.
🌱 We applied what we learned by planting our very own crocosmia bulbs. We made predictions about what colours and smells our flowers will have, and how tall they might be. Right now they are sitting at the window (because plants need the sun 🌞) and we gave them a big drink of water 💧 after we potted them.
🌱 We are really enjoying our literacy and numeracy station learning. We have been learning new sounds /v/ and /oo / OO/. A short oo sound (hook) and a long OO sound (spoon). We have been playing farm games, using our fingers to practice fine motor co ordination, and reading high frequency words.
🌱 In Maths we have been counting, recognising, matching, and writing numbers up to 10 🧮
🌱 In Gaeilge 🇮🇪☘️ we are learning 'Sa Bhaile' (in the house). We used Goldilocks and the Three Bears 🐻 to learn 'an mhór', 'mhór' agus 'beag'.
🌱 We are trying hard to make healthy choices. There were lots of delicious 😋 and nutritious snacks in our class this week. We are going to grow up big and strong 💪 and healthy (no more colds or flu for us 🚫)
