๐ŸŒฑPlanting, ๐Ÿ’—growing,๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“ learning๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿต

27th Mar 2025
๐ŸŒฑWe have been learning about life cycles in our SESE topic. This week we were focusing particularly on flowers ๐Ÿ’ and plants ๐Ÿชด

๐ŸŒฑWe listened to the story of 'Little Sunflower' ๐ŸŒป  and discussed petals, leaves, roots and shoots, and what a plant needs to grow.

๐ŸŒฑ We applied what we learned by planting our very own crocosmia bulbs. We made predictions about what colours and smells our flowers will have, and how tall they might be. Right now they are sitting at the window (because plants need the sun ๐ŸŒž) and we gave them a big drink of water ๐Ÿ’ง after we potted them.

๐ŸŒฑ We are really enjoying our literacy and numeracy station learning. We have been learning new sounds /v/ and /oo / OO/. A short oo sound (hook) and a long OO sound (spoon). We have been playing farm games, using our fingers to practice fine motor co ordination, and  reading high frequency words.

๐ŸŒฑ In Maths we have been counting, recognising, matching, and writing numbers up to 10 ๐Ÿงฎ

๐ŸŒฑ In Gaeilge ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ชโ˜˜๏ธ we are learning 'Sa Bhaile' (in the house). We used Goldilocks and the Three Bears ๐Ÿป to learn 'an mhór', 'mhór' agus 'beag'.

๐ŸŒฑ We are trying hard to make healthy choices. There were lots of delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹  and nutritious snacks in our class this week. We are going to grow up big and strong ๐Ÿ’ช and healthy (no more colds or flu for us ๐Ÿšซ)
