St Brigid's Day Celebrations
Our school recently celebrated St. Brigid's Day with a series of activities that brought students together in the spirit of community and tradition.
Fifth and sixth class attended a special mass dedicated to St. Brigid in the morning.
Sixth class had crafted St. Brigid's crosses and guided second class when they made their St. Brigid's crosses .
On Sunday the festivities continued with a unique and enchanting event. Three of our sixth class girls, Mya, Ayla and Aoibhín took part in a candlelit poscession, dressed in traditional attire. They were accompanied by a drummer as they made their way up the Hill of Faughart. The procession started at the shrine and culminated with the students being greeted by a welcoming fire and mote.
These events not only paid homage to St. Brigid but also brought our school community closer, highlighting the importance of tradition and celebration. You might have seen our girls on the RTE News.
Well done to everyone involved 👏
